Es sind grausame Bilder, die uns aus Spanien erreichen. Man kennt solche Massentötungen nur aus Asien, denn bislang galt das Gadhimai-Festival als das blutigste Ereignis der Welt. Doch diese „Orgie aus Blut und Tod“ findet mitten in Europa statt. Es ist nicht das erste Mal, das spanische Jäger ein Blutbad anrichten. So haben 16 spanische Jäger 7000 Euro dafür gezahlt, um in Azambuja in Portugal 540 Hirsche und Wildschweine an einem Tag zu töten. Sie sollen diese Tiere in die Enge getrieben und dann auf einem Bauernhof geschlachtet haben. Dann stellten sie ihre Beute stolz in den Sozialen Medien zur Schau, was zu einer Empörung in Portugal geführt hat. Jetzt stehen spanische Jäger erneut unter Beschuss, nachdem sie 450 Hirsche und Wildschweine in einem eingezäunten Gehege erbarmungslos an einem Tag abgeschlachtet haben. Es war ein regelrechtes Blutbad im Inneren des eingezäunten Geheges, wo die Tiere gefangen gehalten wurden. Diese Tiere haben keine Chance. Die als „spanische Jagd“ bezeichnete barbarische Praxis bringt Spanien Berichten zufolge jährlich 6,5 Milliarden Euro ein. Jeder Jäger soll 1.000 Euro bei dieser grausamen spanischen Jagd gezahlt haben.

Die Provinz Córdoba im Süden Spaniens ist für Jagdreisen bekannt. Fast 450 Hirsche und Wildschweine wurden in Spanien an einem einzigen Tag geschlachtet – eine „Orgie von Blut und Tod“. Es war ein regelrechtes Blutbad im Inneren des eingezäunten Geheges, wo die Tiere gefangen gehalten wurden, während die Jäger ungestraft auf ihre leichten Ziele schossen. Darüber hinaus zahlte jeder der Jäger rund 1000 Euro (ca. 1140 Dollar), um an der Massentötung von Hirschen und Wildschweinen teilzunehmen. Dies war nicht das erste Mal, dass Spanien derartige Veranstaltungen durchführte. Solche Massentötungen von Tieren in Gehegen sind nach den Gesetzen des Landes sogar legal, so die entsetzten Tierschützer.
Der Massenmord fand bei einer kommerziellen Jagd auf dem Privatgrundstück Los Posteruelos in Villaviciosa de Córdoba in der Nähe der andalusischen Hügel statt.

Spanish hunters are under fire for slaughtering 450 deers and wild boars mercilessly inside a fenced cage. This act of immense cruelty is being touted as something that bring „stability“ to the region by those who organized the hunt. The slaughterfest of a-pork-alyptic proportions saw 450 animals being gunned down by a group of 70 hunters in a single day. Environmentalists are slamming the barbaric practice as an „orgy of blood and death.“
It was an absolute bloodbath inside the fenced cage, where the animals were left trapped while the hunters shot their easy targets with impunity. What is more, each of the hunters paid around 1000 euros ($1140 approx.) to participate in the mass killing of deers and wild boars. This was not the first time Spain has conducted such events. Such mass killings of caged animals are in fact legal under the country’s laws.
Animal rights groups came out in protest of this act, as soon as the images from the mass slaughter were circulated by news outlets. They said the use of fencing is unethical and condemned the hunt after images of the animals‘ carcasses were shared online. Each hunter killed around six or seven animals, a figure that is much higher than on an average day’s hunt, they say. However, the president of the Royal Spanish Hunting Federation, Manuel Gallardo told ‚El Mundo‘ that large-scale hunting is „necessary due to the overabundance of species.“

Gallardo justified his statements by saying that the ritualistic display of the animals‘ bodies on the floor was also necessary for health regulations. He said hunting is essential not only for conservation but also for the social, cultural and economic wellbeing of the region, saying it generates €6.5billion a year (approximately $7.4 billion annually).
